"Family Tree"   Acrylic on Canvas ~ 2007   A large sprawling tree grows out of the center of the canvas. The fairy-tale atmosphere of this saturated, warm landscape conveys the naïveté and charm characteristic of earlier work. In this work, he pushes out the forms to the edges of the composition, leaving large empty spaces in accordance with the Oriental notion of negative space.
