"Looking Out"

A grid of interlocking bars, both vertical and horizontal in format, exudes a sense of rhythmic equilibrium. The artist uses a range of colors to set up a subtle, spatial dynamism between freedom and perhaps self-inflicted bondage, with some colors and forms appearing to be closer to the viewer while others recede. The outside make colors come toward the viewer, while the cooler colors on the bars make the bars seem far away.
