Artist's first painting done in gratitude for healing of a Life threatening illness. Scores of hands being raised upwards in a gesture of Pentecostal praise. The image has a childlike quality, while the reduction of form to simplified geometric and freeform shapes owes much to the work of the Parisian Avant-Guard of the time. The artist often produces flat and brilliantly colored composition using folk as a subject matter.
